Interior:
The interior is bright and well-ventilated from the large overhead hatches and numerous port lights and beautiful with its golden varnished teak throughout, including the floors and walls. The port holes are stunning in brass. In the salon, you have a large open space featuring a large dinette with a hi-lo table which seats several adults and converts into a double berth at night. A settee is across the companionway and seats at least three adults. There is also a great full-size chart table that also doubles as a nice home office when you are at port. The large U-shaped galley has a double-basin stainless steel sink, a DC. refrigerator, three-burner stove with oven, and lots of counter space and storage for dishes and food supplies. Four water tanks totaling 130 gallons of fresh water and a six-gallon water heater assist you in your galley tasks. The Hurricane hot water system has three zones, so is quite capable of handling an Alaska winter. She also has a built-in 12-volt water cooled freezer. The forward cabin has a queen-size v-berth with nice standing room, storage trays, and other convenient features. It has an accompanying head with toilet, shower, sink and linen locker. Kapai has a wonderful deck with an easy walk-around design and large bow and stern deck areas. Her center cockpit has a custom double dodger hardtop and is a wonderful area to relax and enjoy navigating in all types of weather. The transom has a custom sugar scoop addition, which is akin to a yacht swim deck. There is a gas grill and other frills for you to discover. She has a full sail collection including a main sail on mast, stay sails, roller furl, head sail, riggings, winches and more, as well as a spinnaker and a storm jib. She has dinghy davits on stern.
Engine and Mechanical:
Power is provided by her Lehman Ford 85 horsepower diesel. She has two 100-gallon fuel tanks. She has a wet exhaust, mechanic steering, an emergency tiller and other mechanical features. This package comes with redundant anchoring system, including a 33-pound Bruce anchor on a 12-volt electric winch with 400 feet of chain and 100 feet of line, as well as a 66-pound Bruce anchor on a hand crank winch with 200 feet each of chain and line.
