1968 56' Steel Seiner Buy-Back Boat
REDUCED! NEW topside and bottom paint August of 2023. You could be enjoying this former welded steel fishing vessel that has been converted into an amazing motor yacht for long-range cruising or live-aboard. If you like historic vessels, especially those with with a fetching, salty profile that is upgraded and is gorgeous and clean inside and out, this is the perfect gal for you. This is a rare market find! She will not disappoint as she glides through the beautiful passages of Alaska turning heads as she passes by.
INTERIOR
The main cabin was lengthened and a trunk cabin in the area of the former fish hold was added to accommodate three state rooms. Enter from the aft deck through a weathertight swing door on starboard. The interior has been finished in laminates, ash veneers and trim and is light, bright and amazing … excellent workmanship. Her main salon has a very homey feeling. A large, raised U-shaped dinette with easy-to-clean vinyl cushions seats several adults. It converts into a double berth at night. A long, cushioned settee with end table/cabinet is across and seats the rest of your party. The end table can house a homey lamp or perhaps a cappuccino maker. Forward of this seating area and up one step is a gorgeous U-shaped galley. Black countertops blend beautifully with the golden woodwork and stainless-steel appliances, which include a Frigidaire 18 cu ft stainless steel refrigerator, a Force 10 three-burner propane range with coordinating hood, and an inset GE microwave oven. You have lots of drawer and cabinet space which keeps this area today and functional. Forward is the pilothouse helm area with a full width steering console, very nautical oversized wheel at the center. To port is a bench seat so the captain doesn’t have to navigate alone. A pedestal helm seat is a great perch for the captain. There is a hinged watertight door to the side deck from the pilothouse. Aft of the salon is an enclosed head with a marine toilet, hand sink, and showering capabilities. You have a generous 1,000 gallons of potable water for your needs, as well as an EverHot tankless hot water on the furnace loop. In the stern, is a companionway with a queen berth stateroom with lots of storage cabinets to port. A single berth stateroom is on starboard and aft is an additional sleeping area with two single berths above two double berths with privacy curtains. In all, Outlaw can sleep up to a dozen folks! Keeping everyone warm during those colder months is your nice Webasto oil-fired marine hydronic heating system with fans throughout the vessel.
ON DECK
Outlaw was once a fishing vessel, so she has a huge deck at the ready for any type of usage: fishing, lounging, dinner cruises, light cargo transport, you name it. Doors on both port and starboard aft make coming aboard Outlaw easy peasy. She has a synthetic wood false deck that is easy to maintain. This back deck is huge! You could set up a very nice dinner setting for a party, even host a small outside dance if you wanted to! High solid sides all the way around this walk-around beauty means you can have small dogs or children aboard with little worry. The berth area roof is raised and can hold lounge chairs or kayaks or even a dinghy. Railing along both sides of this space are nice hand rails for traversing the deck, but also act as tie-down rails for anything stored here. Atop the main cabin is a freestanding mast and the former flybridge control station and is accessed by a ladder from the port side deck. This area is also great for stowage and has high railing all around. There is plenty of standing room all around this beauty. She has a slightly raised foredeck with anchor windlass and the foredeck slopes four inches down at the front of the house to the side decks and then again to nine inches at the back of the house to the main deck.
ENGINE & MECHANICAL
Her diesel power was overhauled in 2000 and has only 3,886 overhaul hours on it (in 2018). She is powered by her original (overhauled) GMC/Detroit 425 horsepower engine and has been nicely maintained and is in good appearance. Her 1998 Isuzu auxiliary engine is in good condition with 6,753 hours on it. She has four fuel tanks that hold a whopping total of 5,000 gallons of fuel. You can cruise for what seems like forever! For anchoring, you have an open hydraulic drum windlass and a Forfjord anchor on an estimated 100 feet of chain and 300 feet of line.
ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS
A well-rounded navigation electronics package comes with Outlaw, including her Comnav Model Commander autopilot with jog control in the pilothouse. She also has a Garmin GPSmap 741 XL multifunction depth sounder, plotter and GPS with a 3.5x8-inch screen, a Furuno 1731 radar and a Furuno GP32 digital receiver GPS interfaced with HP 2600+ desktop computer that runs Coastal Explorer navigation software with a a Dell 22-inch flatscreen monitor for navigation computer. A backup laptop computer with Coastal Explorer navigation program and USB GPS antenna APC Model 550 UPS for computer also comes with this package. She plugs into shore power when at the dock. The vessel wiring was renewed in the early 2000s as a part of a major refit, so she has been upgraded and has the items you need for a comfortable voyage, including a Xantrex MS 2000 inverter with remote readout in pilothouse and a Ratelco 12v marine battery charger plus a Professional Mariner marine battery charger for furnace system. She has two 8D start batteries and six 6v T-105 lead acid house batteries. Her system is overall in very good condition. She also has ample deck lighting by way of two 1000-watt halogen forward lights and one 500-watt sodium aft light.
NOTES & EXTRAS
