Mike McVey – Commercial Broker For All of Alaska Recreational – Sitka – Juneau and outlying areas

An adventurous spirit, Mike McVey is our one of our South East brokers and our commercial vessel expert. Mike came to Alaska in 1991 with a group of friends, and within days of arriving in Sitka decided to stay and began work on a salmon troller, then moved onto a longliner. 
His love of fishing and Alaska inspired him to covert a 26’ Bayliner into a commercial fishing boat. Not to be deterred, he then upgraded to a 34’ Lobster boat. A life living in a coastal town has provided Mike with invaluable exposure to boats and the boating lifestyle.  Described as easy going, hardworking and exceedingly honest, McFish as he is lovingly known as, joined Alaska Boat Brokers in 2011 and has committed himself to fully servicing his clients. With over 20 years of boating and fishing experience, Mike is an integral part of the ABB family and is completely devoted to the company’s mission statement of integrity and honesty.

Jeff Carson – Ketchikan and Outlying Vicinity

Jeff , an avid fisherman and native Ketchikan.  Jeff has spent his entire life on and around
boats and commercial fisherman. Jeff has a background in winter Dungeness crabbing, packing Chum and Coho in the summer and Purse Seining the waters of Southern Southeast Alaska.

He enjoys his free time with his family aboard their 23′ Parker, fishing, crabbing and shrimping. His favorite past time is fly fishing for steelhead and trout with his son.  Jeff has spent a majority of his adult sales career working with customers to understand their needs and finding solutions. When searching for your next boat Jeff’s love of fishing, boating experience and understanding of
customer service will be the kind of things you will appreciate.

Devin Putney –  Seward and vicinity

 Devin brings the kind of knowledge you will want to partner with when searching for your next boat.
At 13 he learned to sail in Florida. His first high school job was working on sailboats, which eventually led to managing a charter fleet in the Virgin
Islands. 

Devin achieved his first Captains License in 2002 and has continually grown his experience to currently hold a 100 Ton Masters. Devin came to Seward in 2004 to run a small water taxi, and like many before him, fell in love with all that Alaska has to offer.  Devin has since enjoyed captaining whale watching vessels, sailing schooners, catamarans, landing crafts, and crewing on Tug Boats. His interest in all types of boating have made boat deliveries a fun part of his career, venturing from Seward to Seattle and throughout the Caribbean. Devin’s experience with high-end charters, sailing instruction, and boat operations is the kind of insight you will want on your side with searching for your next boat.

Rich Long – Valdez – Cordova – Fairbanks Vicinity

Rich Long is our Valdez broker who has a passion for Uniflite vessels. Rich’s love for boats began when he moved to Alaska at the age of 10. He began his commercial fishing career at the age of 12 and has been boating ever since. 

A marine appraiser and marine storage owner, Rich has personally owned many boats, the latest one which he has done some extensive restoration. A former holder of a 500 ton Masters ticket, he has spent a considerable amount of time managing vessels during environmental crisis events. He brings a bevy of information due to his extensive experience with all sorts of vessels to ABB. Described as a straight shooter and brutally honest, Rich fits right into the family atmosphere at Alaska Boat Brokers. When not spending time with clients and their boats, Rich enjoys the boating lifestyle, especially in his backyard of Prince William Sound.

As the dynamic owner of ABB David Franz began his love of Alaska in Oregon. A love of fishing the Oregon rivers for salmon and settled naturally led him to Alaska.  After his first visit he continued to visit Alaska for over 20 years while managing his small business in Montana 

until the lure of Alaska finally hooked him and he moved here permanently in 2009. His love of Alaska, its people and boats led him to then purchase ABB from the gentleman who sold him his first Alaskan boat and has been thoroughly enjoying traveling to Alaskan communities and beyond to meet new people and their boats. Dedicated and loyal, David is known for his integrity and honesty as well as an exceptional work ethic. In his off time he still enjoys fishing with friends and family.

Raised on the Oregon Coast, Jess has spent and spends every spare moment either on the water fishing, working on boats, building boat parts, building lures, or just looking at fishing and boat parts. Jess has been on the water all his life in one form or another from river fishing to ocean fishing.

The ocean is where his heart is and that passion to detail translates into a broker that will be best able to help his customers find the right boat that will fit their needs.
