REDUCED TO $149,900. 2008 Back Cove 29 Downeast Motor Yacht. Here is an East Coast design that has settled in Alaska. The Back Cove 29' features that down east style with an efficient single diesel engine, and plenty of room for the whole family.

Interior:

These Back Cove's really have two separate interior spaces. Starting with the bridge deck, she features a well appointed helm station and a L shaped lounge to port that will seat 3-4. Stepping down into the v-berth, you will notice the cherry wood cabinets and large v-berth. To port you have your kitchen, and to starboard the large head with shower. The kitchen includes a large counter area, stainless sink, microwave, fridge and single burner alcohol stove. The main kitchen counter has covers for the sink and single burner that turn the space into a much larger work area if needed.

On Deck:

The bridge deck is versatile in that you can seal up the canvas in foul weather or open it up on a nice day and extend the cockpit. The rear deck offers plenty of space for whatever activity you're interested in. If you're fishing, pulling pots, lounging or just enjoying the view while cruising, there is plenty of space for multiple people. There is a large storage space under the deck that also serves as access to the main fuel tank. The Back Cove 29' offers wide side decks and sturdy hand rails to make trips back and forth to the ground tackle on the bow much easier.

Engine and Mechanical:

This East coast style cruiser is powered by a single 315 horse power Yanmar diesel engine. She cruises efficiently at 20 knots and can turn up to 26-27 knots at wide open throttle. She has a prop pocket to reduce shaft angle which allows her to only draw 2'6" and gives you the option of operating in unusually shallow water. At 14 knots cruise speed she burns about 5 gallons an hour and at 20 knot cruise she burns around 10. Docking is made simple with not only a bow thruster, but also a stern thruster both mounted on the dash within easy reach of the helm chair.

Electrical and Electronics:

Kelpie has a full arsenal of Raymarine electronics. She has a single dash mounted unit that houses the GPS, Radar and depth sounder. She also has a Raymarine auto pilot, wipers for each of the 3 windshields, bow and stern thrusters and trim tabs. The anchor wench can be controlled from the helm or from the deck mounted foot activated pedals that are next to the wench.

This Back Cove 29' has a classy style and a very efficient single diesel power package that can deliver 2-3 nautical miles per gallon, depending on where you want to run her. She would make a great family vessel, but would also make a great charter package if you wanted to earn some cash with her.
