REDUCED TO $89,900! Here is your opportunity to own a piece of Alaskan history. Tongass Ranger is one of two steel vessels commissioned by the United States Forest Service in the 1950's and mostly used for surveying timber sales in Southeast Alaska. She was re-powered by the Forest Service before being decommissioned, and is now armed with a 440 HP Caterpillar 3408 main engine. She has beds for 8, 2 heads, a full galley, and plenty of exterior space to make her ideal for seeing the sights while underway.

 Interior:
You can enter the Tongass Ranger from either a port or starboard helm entry door. The main helm is equipped with a large captains chair, a rear seating area that doubles as a single bunk, a full set of electronics and awesome visibility. Moving down and forward into the large v-berth and you will find 2 sets of bunk beds, ample cabinet space and a full bathroom with toilet, sink and more cabinets for storage. Move aft of the helm and you will find yourself in the well appointed kitchen. She has a full size fridge, stainless counter and sink and a large Dickenson diesel stove with oven. The aft cabin of Tongass Ranger has 3 bunks, the original gun locker, a large wet locker and aft bathroom. There is a rear exit to access the back deck, transom door and swim step.

 On Deck:
The Tongass Ranger has plenty of deck space from her fore deck and cockpit to the upper deck that holds the knuckle boom. There is plenty of space to move around both sides of the cabin to either access the anchor wench or to stand ready to launch or tie up. She has a small rear cockpit and a transom door to gain access to the swim step. There is plenty of space in the cockpit to set up a couple downriggers or to explore the ocean bottom with a chunk of bait or jig. With the swim step and transom door, you could land a large halibut and haul her onto the rear deck.

 Engine and Mechanical:
Tongass Ranger is powered by a reliable 440 HP Caterpillar 3408 diesel engine. She currently has a little over 13,000 hours and runs like a champ. She cruises at 9 knots at around 1500 RPM while burning roughly 5 gallons per hour. She is armed with a set of Northern Lights generators, a Phase Three commercial battery charging system and hydraulics to run the anchor wench and knuckle boom. With 1800 gallons of fuel and 800 gallons of water, she is a true long range cruiser.

 Electrical and Electronics:
The main helm of Tongass Ranger has a full set of electronics and communication equipment. She has a Furuno FCV 620 depth sounder, a Raymarine GPS/Radar unit, 2 VHF's, a CB unit and a ComNav auto pilot. She is equipped with the old school wheel, but also a jog lever and rudder indicator.

 Notes and Extras:
The Tongass Ranger has a long history as a work vessel, but her future could be filled with a number of uses. She would make a great liveaboard, long range cruiser or charter vessel, all while turning heads at the fuel dock.
