A UNIQUE WELL MAINTAINED “competition” version of the Ericson 38. This is a fast, well-built, comfortable vessel. Designed by popular Bruce King who was known for designing boats with beautiful lines, proportions, performance & cruising. As a testament to its popularity, the Ericson 38 remained in production for more than 20 years. The owner of this boat has given meticulous care and maintenance to her. With accommodations for six, she has all the amenities making for comfort while cruising northern waters. Interior:
The interior in this boat has been well maintained and is clean. She is finished in teak with teak trim. The galley is well laid out with lots of storage throughout the vessel. Double ss sink w/pressure and hot/cold water. Fresh and saltwater foot pumps. Propane 3-burner gimbaled Seaward stove w/ oven and remote gas shut-off valve. Adler-Barber refrigeration in large icebox with excellent access. Main saloon has 6’3” headroom. Teak and holly sole. Accommodations on the Ericson 38 feature a V-berth cabin forward followed by the head with a separate shower. The salon has a U-shaped settee to port followed by a large enclosed quarterberth stateroom. Opposite are two seats with a small table between followed by a cook friendly galley.
Engine and Mechanical:
Cockpit - T-shaped cockpit with storage under starboard seat and stern Destroyer wheel & binnacle mounted controls Two 6-gal aluminum propane tanks in separate vented lockers.
Electrical and Electronics:
Electronics - Eclipse VHF radio - Garmin GPS - Horizon depth sounder - Signet wind speed & direction indicator - 5” Ritchie compass 1982 runs great never had any problems meticulously maintained
Notes and Extras:
Sails - Fully battened main with lazy jacks- Roller furling headsails: - 1) 110% Tape Drive jib -2) 110% Dacron jib - 3) 130% Dacron Genoa - Spinnaker with sock. Winches: Barient (primary sheet winches and mainsheet winch are self-tailing. Halyards: New (2009) Sampson 3/8” Warpspeed (main, headsail and spinnaker). Mainsheet traveler is new in 2009 and equipped with custom Harken High-Beam with Captive Ball car. ** COMES WITH A FULL WINTER COVER. NEARLY ESSENTIAL FOR AN ALASKA BOAT **
