|Engine and Mechanical:|
|Twin Turbo Hino 150 hp each diesels. 2500 hours each. Transmissions are Hurth and capable of up to 250 hp engines -- so they are plenty stout. Engines and transmissions have performed flawlessly. Oil and fluids changed regularly every 100 hours or less and also always well winterized. Engines have new antifreeze installed each fall before storage. Each engine has it's own Racor fuel filter as well as a final filter on the engine. There is also a fuel manifold so you can draw fuel from either tank or both (the tanks are side tanks and are aluminum). All engine fluid areas easy to reach and ample space to reach all engine areas. Spare belts, filters. Owners manuals and complete shop manuals. Twin diesels give you speed if you want it, excellent maneuvering at the dock, a back up system in case of mechanical or electrical failure, and fuel economy if you want to go slow. Fuel consumption is about 12-15 total gal per hour at 16 knots. If you want to slow down to 8 knots it is less than 2 gal per hour. The engines are quiet, as the engine room is soundproofed and separate from the main cabin. They are also clean with no oil or antifreeze leaks. Boat rides dry and won't pound in seas up to 4' going full speed. In seas to 6' you need to slow down to 12 or 13 knots to avoid pounding. Cruise range is about 260 miles if going 16 knots, and about 800 miles if you slow down to the hull speed of about 7 knots. |
